performance, video, and sound

Boston, Massachusetts

Fourteen artists will present works ranging from 4 to 24 hours in length in performance, video, and sound during 30 continuous hours beginning on September 16th and concluding on September 17th.
Elapse offers the opportunity to see several time-based works which share an extended duration but that explore and exploit this prolonged time in uniquely different ways. The projects that make up Elapse involve: marking time and documenting the passing of time, acts o
In life and in art, we do not often have occasion to watch another person engaged in activities for extended periods of time. These occasions are cumbersome gifts that may require weathering the tedium in order to witness something quite remarkable. Elapse is intended to be an opportunity for artists and audience alike to take part in an experiment in time.
